Another girls’ day out
It’s been so long since I went for a Venus Legacy treatments. Probably two years ago I had my last one. Too long! After I got my dental implants I was recommended by my dentist to avoid them for a while. He probably refered to stay away for couple of months, until the bone graft was healed. I might have taken it too seriously and stayed away for double the time.
Yesterday, I found a got deal at a local spa on Groupon, thus I am going to get pampered on Saturday! Yay! I invited my friend M. to join me. My treat! I knew she was going through some rough times and I thought that I could cheer her up a bit. Which woman does not like getting pampered for half a day at the spa?
I was really happy to hear that M. was available on Saturday. After I spoke with my husband and asked him to take care of the kids for the entire day, I planned to go out for lunch with M. and walk to Old Port with her. We used to walk a lot in there when we were young. Actually, she used to live on rue St.Paul, real close to the hotel with the same name. I think she lived there for about ten years, then she moved to Longueuil, where she bought a house.
Although we are years apart, we never felt the burden of the age gap. Throughout the years she continued to be a true friend and support me no matter what. She was there for me when I lost my job, when my parents passed away, when I got sick, etc... Whenever I needed help, there she was. I don’t think I have seen or met someone more altruistic than her.
All that I wanted for her was to be happy. She deserves to be happy because she is an incredible person. I am lucky to have her in my life. Despite all the negative things she is going through, she still finds the time to listen or help to her friends. I guess that what keeps her going are the meditation and her passions. Otherwise how could she keep a Zen attitude with such a selfish husband? M. and him, are totally different. I never understood what she saw in him. I respected her choice and prayed for her happiness.
