First day off
This is my first day of vacation in 2015. So far I have been working around the clock. Between my new job, the kids and the housewife chores, there was barely time for anything else. Because I did a lot of overtime, I was able to convert in days off. So far I did not take any days off, because I wanted to keep my vacation days for my sister's wedding in July and for our annual family trip in December.
I always wondered why they didn't invent this all-inclusive packages couple of decades ago. I would have definitely enjoyed it, as well as all the members of my family. Specially Christmas time, oh, that would have been a godsend. We would have to run around like crazy buying gifts for everyone, or spend countless hours in the kitchen preparing the Xmas meals for ten people. Our life would have been much easier. Less stress, and more time to relax.
Well, at least that`s we are doing for Christmas in the past ten years. We book our vacation from early spring and on December 17th we take off. Because we are more ten persons, our travelling agent gets books us as a group and we benefit from a small discount.
Since July is already here, so does my little sister's wedding. So in my first day off, I have to do the packing for all five of us (that means two adults and three children). Tomorrow morning we have the flight towards Edmonton, where my sister will pick us up. My whole family is spread out throughout Canada, and now we will all meet at the wedding. I thought initially of driving all the way there, since I was off and kids were in vacation but my husband did not like the idea. He said that Edmonton asphalt has much more potholes than Montreal. He added he would rather fly than spend so much time on the road.
The wedding will be held at Chateau Lacombe. From what I heard from my sister this venue has a fairy tale style, and it didn't cost them an arm and a leg. We wanted to get a room there for the wedding night, thinking that no one will like to drive after drinking, but the hotel was completely booked. Therefore, we'll just go by taxi to our hotel. My sister wanted us to stay in their condo, but we would have been all like sardines in a tin, given that my brother and his wife are already there.
Well, enough with the writing for today, I have to go back to my packing.
