I'm sick again

I'm sick again - Cheryl Cady

I feel awful today. I am coming down with something, probably a cold or a nasty flu. My whole body aches, my throat is sore, I have a terrible headache bothering me since yesterday evening and I can’t eat or swallow anything. Whatever it is, I must have got it from my kid’s school.

Two days ago I attended a teacher-parents meeting and the two mommies sitting next to me were virused. They sneezed and coughed next me without a cease. I tried to cover my nose so that I don’t breath in any of the germs they were spreading around, but I guess it wasn’t an effective measure to prevent falling sick. Unfortunately I had no other place to move, thus I was stuck between these two ladies for almost one hour.

When I left the school, I was feeling alright. The following day I did not have any unusual symptoms. Only towards the evening, I started to get a headache and I felt a bit of discomfort while eating. I hoped that I would not get sick because I had too many things that I had to do.

When I woke up this morning, my eyes were glued. I had to walk towards the washroom with my eyes half open and wash them thoroughly in order to have them fully opened.

Until I tried to talk, I had no idea how much my throat ached. As I tried to say something to my son, I was surprised to hear my voice had changed. It sounded so different. And it hurt so much to talk. He was amused to hear my “robot” voice, as he described it later. I had to communicate with him through written messages because I was avoiding to force my throat.

I hoped that a warm ginger tea with honey and lemon would help me feel better and allow me to talk. It didn’t. I drank almost two liters of tea and nothing changed with the exception that I started to cough as well. Oh, boy! When I cough, my whole chest hurts! I pray that I did not get a pneumonia! That would be the last thing I needed!

This afternoon I was supposed to look for security camera GTA but I won’t be able to leave the house. I can’t do anything. I asked my mother to go pick up my kid from school and keep him at her place until I get better. I did not want to get him sick as well.
