A terrible headache
During lunch I got a terrible headache. It hurt so bad that I could not focus on any of the topics discussed at the table. When my partner asked me what was my opinion regarding thepersonal financial statement preparation Montreal, I was not able to utter a sound. I excused myself explaining that I wasn’t feeling well. He looked at me and suggested to me to take the rest of the day off.
Since I don’t know him that well, I was not sure if he really cared or he just wanted to ensure that I wasn’t coming down with the flu and passing it on to him. We worked together only for a few weeks, and not on a daily basis.
Anyway, I followed his advice and instead of returning to the office, I drove all the way home, where I went to sleep. I crashed on my sofa and covered with the throw blanket. I woke up three hours later, when my phone rang. I would have slept more, if it wasn’t for that call.
When I heard the phone ringing, I tried to remember where I had placed it. For a few instants I could not remember where it was. I did not know if it was still in the pocket of my coat, inside my bag or anywhere else. I was confused.
After a few more rings, I identified the source of its ringing tone. It was coming from under the sofa’s cushions. Apparently, before going to sleep, I took it out and put it under the pillow. During my sleep, when I moved, it slipped in between the cushions.
By the time I finally retrieved it, the call stopped. I checked my missed calls and saw it was my mother. I called her back. She had called my office and she was told that I had took off for the day. She was checking on me, to make sure I was okay and to see if I needed anything.
Before I said anything, she volunteered to pass by and bring me some chicken soup. I wanted to tell her that I wasn’t sick, but when I realized that it was close to dinner time and I had no food in the fridge, I agreed with her plan. I did not mind having her over. I also did not mind at all having her bringing me food or cooking for me. I hate cooking! If I could only live dinning out, that would be great!
